i never thought that i would spend halloween in china two years in a row.. but i did! i had so much fun this year with my girls, our students and the school staff. the girls and i spent the few weeks leading up to our halloween party decorating our classroom and getting different materials ready. it was a lot of work, but it was worth it to see how much fun our students had at the party!
so, a chinese party is much different than american parties. this one had a strict schedule and a script to go by hahaha. oh man. so these are all the parents and kids, they sat at one end of the classroom while Freda and I "hosted" the party. it was interesting..
april was a fairy, bird, princess? i was hello kitty! herrrro keeety.
these are some of our students, the principals, and freda.
our principals are so weird... the one on the left is usually super stern and cold, and at the party she was insane and off the wall!! the principal on the left is always insane, and it was just magnified at the party. gottttta love em'
this is sweet little dave! he is wearing devil horn, but he is the biggest sweet heart.
this is jack! he is the cutest thing ever... we love him to death. he was a perfect spiderman!!
group picture!!! love the picture of john in the background on the tv. our chinese teacher, jessica, made a slideshow of pictures with the kids and us with cute chinese music. love!
this is alice!!!! she is my favorite chinese teacher at the school. i wish i could speak chinese...because if i could, we would be best friends for suuuure. she kept saying how cute i looked hahaha. they love their hello kitty.
we had them bob for apples and it was suuuper funny. they had a really hard time with it, so their parents helped them out. they had fun playing, and we certainly had fun watching.
manders and i. i kinda love her? we like being weirdos.
we had them play this donut game after!!! they didn't really get that you couldn't use your hands... it was still super cute to watch them play it.
trick or treat time!!! freda didn't understand the concept of trick or treating...so basically we just sat there while the kids ran back and forth getting candy from us and giving it to their parents haha. it was cute.
we had these fun bloody popcorn hands hanging in the classroom.
me and jack at the end of the party! ssssssk! (sound of spider webs...duh)
this is jessica the chinese teacher for our class. i have grown to love her!
this is my hello kitty face! except i kind of look like a mousey mouse...hehe. i was "meowing" at people out of our bike taxi..good times.
this was the day after our party with our kids, we had a little party with the school! it was only an hour but we taught them some halloween words, gave out candy, then went through this little maze thing...
april and i! i look so tired man.
this was the "ghost tunnel." pretty high tech..
we were in safe hands that day.
and finally, a picture with sweet, sweet tony. i love him to pieces...
after it was all over we were sad but very relieved! it was a lot of work and it's nice to have some rest for a little bit. only one week until we leave for beijing!!! parttttyy timeeee!!!!
These were absolutely darling pictures of your students and the other chinese adults. Wow those kids are darling. And I gotta say...your costumes were awesome! Good Work! Pee School is so much fun!
