Made in China.

One of the most common questions that I get when people know I am coming to china is if I will be able to get everything I can from america here, because everything is "made in china."

Today i went to the one place where everything is really made in china... WAL MART.

We heard there was one about 20 min away by bus, so of course we wanted to check it out! Our chinese coordinator Freda is the sweetest person on this planet, but she is new to the town and doesn't know much about getting around. She thought the bus would pick us up at 3:00... turns out we were waiting until 430! baah! such a long wait. but it was okay because we were more than willing to wait to go to wal mart!

{waiting....}

the bus took only 15 minutes and when we got there it looked like a huge government building.. or a castle! the walmart was only one section of the "Sunshine Mall." but it was still huge!

we get into the wal mart and......... disappointment. it was just like all the other chinese supermarkets here :( i was pretty much expecting that because i mean, why would they have a bunch of american stuff? chinese people like their chinese ways. there were a couple american things here and there... but nothing what we were hoping for. we actually did find butter!!! sooo expensive!! it was 2 american dollars for just one stick.. but it was worth buying.. we love our butter!

we had to wait again on the bus home because Freda got us lost.. haha. what was supposed to be an hour and a half trip turned into a 4 hour escapade... lesson learned though! it was a fun adventure. we always have a good time no matter where we go, or how lost we get.

{bus ride home...}
